Three projects granted with Food & Business Applied Research Fund
Three Food & Business Applied Research Fund (ARF) research proposals have been awarded funding. The awarded ARF research proposals are the result of the first round of the second call for proposals. In total, eighteen projects have now been rewarded in the fund. The next deadline for submitting a proposal is May 12, 2015.
- Improving the resilience of the inland fisher communities and aquatic systems to overfishing and water resource degradation in Benin.
- Technology innovations towards sustainability in Indonesia’s tuna supply chains.
- Ensuring Sustainable and Sustained Food Security by Enhancing local parboiled rice value-Chain Competitiveness in Gogounou and Banikoara areas in Benin (PARCR).

The new ARF-projects will start in the next few months and will take up to three years. All research teams are led by a practitioner organisation from one of the fifteen partner countries of Dutch development cooperation. Other team members are Dutch or LMIC research or higher education organisations and, in some cases, also other local enterprises. The budget of ARF-projects varies between 50,000 and 300,000 euros, depending on the project duration and excluding co-funding from consortium partners.
