A three-day workshop “Strengthening Ugandan Food and Nutrition Security in policy and practice – Scaling innovations from food and agricultural research” was organized in June by NWO-WOTRO, F&BKP and AgriProFocus Uganda. Aim of the workshop was to take stock of the insights and outcomes of the ARF projects in Uganda. »

Last spring the F&BKP facilitated a consultative stocktaking process to feed a Strategic Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (SKIA) for SDG2. A range of experts was consulted as well as key policy documents and literature. This inventory was translated in a report that has been published online now. In the report a multi-stakeholder request is dominant for a future knowledge agenda focusing on food systems transformation from a Research in Development perspective. »

Five senior researchers will receive funding in the third assessment round of the CGIAR Senior Expert Programme to spend more time on their CGIAR research and research management in large CGIAR programmes and platforms. The CGIAR, a global research partnership, collaborates with the Netherlands on food security, dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources. »

The Global Challenges Programme project “Sustainable aquaculture to support mangrove forest restoration in Indonesia (PASMI)” held its closing stakeholder workshop on September 19, 2019 at the Diponegoro University (UNDIP) in Indonesia, also to support the related project Demak-Building with Nature (BwN). »
