Ghanaian television news channel GBC24 has broadcasted a news item about the public seminar “Future food systems for Ghanaian food security” which took place in Accra on January 17, 2019.

The seminar was organized by the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP) and NWO-WOTRO Science for Global Development on Thursday afternoon January 17, 2019 in the Mensvic Grand Hotel in East Legon Accra, Ghana.

Professionals working to improve Food and Nutrition Security in Ghana exchanged with Dutch international multi-stakeholder Research Groups of the Global Challenges Programme (GCP) Call 3. These projects are financed by NWO-WOTRO, focus on food systems and were present in Ghana for their midterm sessions.

Central theme of this exchange was future food systems for Ghanaian food security.  The seminar was centred around the question how Ghanaian consumers can access sufficient various quality food that is in accordance with their dietary wishes and health needs, and the drivers of change (type of policy, agriculture, inclusive trade, etc.) needed to achieve this sustainably.
