Since the beginning of YEP Programmes in 2013, almost 300 Young Experts have started their international careers in Water and/or Agrofood projects. The current set-up of the programme stops at the end of 2019. At the moment, the YEP Programme Bureau is developing the GO YEP-vision 2030, with the support of the Deloitte Impact Foundation. The basis for the GO YEP-vision is the continuation of the current programmes YEP Water and YEP Agrofood, with a possible extension to other sectors!

On Friday September 01, 2017, the YEP Programme Bureau and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organize a Visionary Meeting (held in Dutch). They invite all organizations and companies which have hired Young Experts over the past four years to join the meeting. Deloitte Impact Foundation will moderate the discussion, focusing on the following themes:

  • Ambition is to continue YEP Water and YEP Agrofood until 2030, following the Sustainable Development Goals. What are the needs of the sectors concerning the continuation of YEP Water and YEP Agrofood?
  • The Dutch Water (and Agrofood) sector has the ambition to increase its impact abroad. YEP would like to contribute to this ambition by strategically placing Young Experts. What is the impact of Young Experts on organizations’ projects, business and programmes?
  • YEP is investigating the possible extension to other themes, for example in the field of energy, logistics, maritime, climate and sustainable conventions. Which ideas and possibilities do the sectors see?
  • Both for the continuation and the extension of YEP, new financing models are being investigated. Which consequences could this have for co-financing from the sector?

Please register online for the GO YEP Visionary Meeting through this link (registration form in Dutch).
The meeting takes place at the Babylon Meeting Center in The Hague. From 12:30 there will be sandwiches, the programme starts at 13:00 and is followed by networking drinks at 17:00.
