FNS Excellence Programme students meet Ministries
Theme: FNS Excellence Programme

The Food & Nutrition Security Excellence Programme is currently entering its final stage. The students handed in their work plans and met again with their coaches. Moreover, they visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MinFA) and of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (MinAgri) to learn more about Dutch FNS policy. During the last month of the Programme, the teams will formulate concrete and sustainable solutions to the challenges the Dutch Embassies of Burundi and Kenya face in their FNS projects and programmes. »

Last spring the F&BKP facilitated a consultative stocktaking process to feed a Strategic Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (SKIA) for SDG2. A range of experts was consulted as well as key policy documents and literature. This inventory was translated in a report that has been published online now. In the report a multi-stakeholder request is dominant for a future knowledge agenda focusing on food systems transformation from a Research in Development perspective. »

The fifth edition of YEP Effect has been released, informing about the impact made through YEP Water and Agrofood and the new YEP Tailor-made programme. The magazine reflects on 16 batches of Young Experts in YEP Phase I (2013-2019), and the new YEP Tailor-made programme. The YEP Bureau is currently negotiating about YEP Phase II, and hopes to continue the Young Expert Programmes soon. »

Knowledge Programme for Food Security

The Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP), Embassy Support Programme and Talent Pool will continue as the Knowledge Programme for Food Security. This Programme will increase the impact of Dutch projects, programmes, policies, investments and business on SDG2 by knowledge brokering across professional divides. It will facilitate the creation, exchange and – particularly – the use of knowledge by Dutch actors and their LMIC partners. »
