International seminar Landscape Governance, Spatial Planning and Finance
On Wednesday June 29, 2016 Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation is organizing a seminar on “Landscape approach to Governance, Planning and Finance”, in the context of the Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative (LPFN) and its visit to the Netherlands.
Integrated landscape management is increasingly recognized as a means to simultaneously achieve sustainable food production, ecosystem conservation, and sustainable livelihoods at the landscape level. This is why the seminar aims to contribute to the further sharing of knowledge, dialogue and action to support integrated landscape management worldwide.
The seminar will take place in Wageningen Impulse, which is an inspiring environment for people from different backgrounds to informally meet. There will be three Wageningen scholars, who will introduce the participants to the topics of landscape governance, spatial planning and landscape finance. After these presentations, the participants will be split into groups, to further dive into the three topics, share practical experiences, and exchange innovative tools.
The outcomes of the seminar will offer a ‘state-of-the-art’ knowledge on landscape governance, planning and finance; will help identify the major knowledge gaps, and collectively draft a knowledge agenda for landscape approaches and their application to governance, planning and finance across the globe.
