Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI) stands for “Knowledge in Action” and supports organizations and people to strengthen their capacity for sustainable development. WCDI is currently looking for a Horticulture Value Chain Advisor.

WCDI is looking for a young expert in horticulture, who will contribute to horticulture value chain development in low- and middle-income countries.  WCDI is offering an initial one year contract of 36 hours per week with a performance based possibility for extension.

Vacancy

The selected candidate is a practitioner who has a good understanding of the horticulture sector and of horticulture value chain development, especially in low and middle income countries. The Horticulture Value Chain Advisor will support the management and implementation of horticulture and horticulture value chain projects. Assignments can range from project implementation and project management, to capacity strengthening (including facilitating short term professional trainings and workshops), action-oriented research, and strategic and policy advice, or a combination of the above.

Next to implementing activities, the Horticulture Value Chain Advisor will contribute to further developing the Centre’s international profile and portfolio of work in the area of horticulture. At CDI, project implementation and capacity strengthening are closely intertwined and mutually reinforce each other. Assignments take place in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and, to a lesser extent, Latin America.

Applications

Please find the details of the vacancy here. Applications should be submitted online by uploading a CV and letter of motivation at the website before October 15, 2017.
