NICHE Call for Innovative Initiatives
The NICHE Call for Innovative Initiatives aims to strengthen post-secondary education and training capacity, and to address capacity needs of education and training providers in one or more of the eligible countries and focusing amongst others on food security. Deadline for submission is June 17, 2016.
The Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education (NICHE) is a Netherlands-funded development cooperation programme. By sustainably strengthening higher education and technical and vocation education and training (TVET) capacity in partner countries, it contributes to economic development and poverty reduction.
NICHE focuses on the countries and policy priorities identified in the Dutch bilateral cooperation programme. In line with the current development policy of the Netherlands, the programme focuses on four policy priorities: Water; Food security; Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); and Security and the rule of Law.
NICHE pays special attention to equal opportunities for women and men, and the link between capacity developments and the needs of the labor market.
Description of the Call for Innovative Initiatives
The Call for Innovative Initiatives aim to strengthen post-secondary education and training capacity, and to address capacity needs of education and training providers in one or more of the eligible countries.
The instrument will enable local and Dutch stakeholders to address specific local needs and challenges in post-secondary education and training, and to jointly work on innovative solutions.
The Call for Innovative Initiatives is an open competition. A (joint) proposal is to be submitted by a consortium of partners from one or more eligible countries and the Netherlands.

Available funding
The minimum budget is € 50,000, the maximum budget is € 200,000.
