New YEP positions available

Young Expert Programmes (YEP) is looking for Dutch young professionals for five new YEP positions. Main goal of YEP, consisting of YEP Agrofood, Water and Renewable Energy, is to offer young professionals the opportunity to kickstart their international career and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. The current Agrofood vacancies in Laos and Uganda/Rwanda are open for Dutch nationals only. Application for the new YEP positions in batch 22 is open until November 8, 2020.

YEP Programmes is again looking for candidates who would like to kickstart their international career and develop themselves into a professional in the international water, agrofood and/or energy sector.  A Young Experts have international ambition and wants to innovate these sectors. At the same time, they will also develop themselves through training, coaching and mentoring.

At this moment, there are five job opportunities open for Dutch nationals, of which two in the Agrofood sector in Laos and in Kenya/Rwanda. Application for these YEP positions is open until November 8, 2020.

By assessing the self test on the YEP website, candidates can find out if they meet the criteria for becoming a Young Expert. After the initial selection based on CV and motivation letter, candidates might be invited to the online speeddate session in the morning of November 27, 2020. After the speeddate sessions, candidates could be presented to organisations for a specific project, added to the YEP pool of potential Young Experts, or not admitted to YEP. Candidates who are selected by the organisations for the positions, are required to attend the training weeks of YEP batch #22 from February 1 till 25, 2021.

YEP Agrofood Position – SNV Netherlands Development Organisation – Laos

Project title: Enhancing Nutrition of Upland Farming Families Project
Duration: 2 year(s)
Position: Young Expert Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture
Background: Enhancing Nutrition of Upland Farming Families (ENUFF) is a project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. The goal of the project is to improve family and child nutrition in remote and ethnically diverse upland farming communities through improved feeding, caregiving and dietary practices, reduced incidence of WASH related diseases in CU2 linked to malnutrition, improved availability and accessibility of diverse nutritious foods, and conducive institutional framework at the sub-national level.

YEP Agrofood Position – Resilience BV – Uganda and Rwanda

Project title: Resiliencia Uganda and Rwanda: moving from aid to trade realizing sustainable growth of the agricultural sector
Duration: 2 years
Position: Traid Program Manager Uganda and Rwanda
Background: Resilience is an international network organization that carries out research and consultancy projects in emerging markets. Moreover, we also initiate and invest in social enterprises ourselves to develop market-based solutions for pressing issues. We are a group of bright and open-minded professionals seeking to make a change. Currently, we are active in the field of agribusiness, horticulture and seed-sector development, farmer-led irrigation and drinking water. Resilience has offices in Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Netherlands and Rwanda. We are currently in the process of establishing an office in Uganda. Local offices implement projects, programs or assignments independently as well as collaboratively. Resilience envisions a world where humankind can grow happier, healthier and more prosperous managing pressure on natural and socio-economic systems.

Since 2013, 554 Young Experts have already been employed through YEP Programmes in 43 different countries.
