F&BKP newsletter February 2019 (#01)
In the February 2019 Newsletter, the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP) informs about having entered its second phase with the approval of the Plan of Action 2019-2022 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The F&BKP, Embassy Support Programme and Talent Pool will continue as the Knowledge Programme for Food Security.
This Programme will increase the impact of Dutch projects, programmes, policies, investments and business on SDG2 by knowledge brokering across professional divides; it will facilitate the creation, exchange and – particularly – the use of knowledge by Dutch actors and their LMIC partners. The Knowledge Programme is expected to be integrated in an envisioned Netherlands Food Partnership which is being established.
The secretariat of the KP will for now operate in a similar mode as in 2013-2018, with the same consortium partners Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, AgriProFocus and The Broker. At the moment there is a vacancy for a medior Knowledge Broker on Food Security to strengthen the team: deadline for applications is Monday February 11, 2019.
In the February Newsletter reports are presented on the midterm meeting in Ghana of the projects of the third Call of the Global Challenges Programme and the public seminar on “Future food systems for Ghanaian food security”, where the winner of the Agrofood Broker of the Year 2018 was announced. Furthermore, a Practice note on adaptive programme management in fragile and complex settings; a network mapping on climate smart horticulture in Africa; and reports of the fifth CoP around Youth in Agribusiness and food systems, and the WASH and Nutrition workshop are highligthed.
