YEP Annual Report 2015
On its renewed website, the YEP Programme Bureau has published its Annual Report 2015, providing an overview of the activities and results over the course of 2015. Another 66 Young Experts joined YEP in 2015, so the YEP network continues to grow. The annual report also covers the training programme and the changes and innovations, the results of the Mid Term Review, and information about the YEP alumni.
Currently there have been over 150 Young Experts in the Water and Agrofood programmes, and already over 40 have made the transition from Young Expert to alumni, and now form part of the growing YEP alumni network. Four alumni Young Experts are currently looking for a job: the others have all managed to secure a position with an organization within the Water sector in the Netherlands or internationally. Since this is one of the goals of the programme, these are very satisfying results.
At the end of 2015, a Mid Term Review (MTR) on YEP Water was conducted. The conclusion of this review is that “the program is performing in an excellent way and managed professionally”. In order to optimize the programme in the following years, the MTR proposes a number of improvements, which will be implemented in the coming months. One of the most important recommendations the report makes is the continuation of the YEP Water programme. In May 2016, a proposal will be drafted to extend the end date of YEP Water to meet the end date of YEP Agrofood, which is at the end of 2019.
