Five new YEP positions available

Young Expert Programmes (YEP) is looking for Dutch candidates for five new YEP positions. Main goal of YEP, consisting of YEP Agrofood and YEP Water, is to offer young professionals the opportunity to kickstart their international career supported by training and coaching.  The current vacancies in Kenya, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ghana and Myanmar are open for Dutch nationals only. Application for the new YEP positions is open until July 24, 2019.

YEP Programmes is again looking for candidates for YEP positions. At this moment, there are five job opportunities open for Dutch nationals, of which three in the agrofood sector in Kenya, Ghana and Myanmar. Application for these YEP positions is open until July 24, 2019. Candidates who are selected, are required to attend the training weeks of YEP batch #17 from September 16 to October 4, 2019. By assessing the self test on the YEP website, candidates can find out if they meet the criteria for becoming a Young Expert.

YEP AGROFOOD POSITION Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen UR – Food System Resilience Officer – Kenya, Nairobi

Country: Kenya, Nairobi
Project Title: Food and Nutrition Security Resilience Programme (FNS-REPRO): Building food system resilience in protracted crises
Duration: 2 years

YEP WATER POSITION MDF Training & Consultancy BV – Trainer and Consultant – Bangladesh, Dhaka

Country: Bangladesh, Dhaka
Project Title: Capacity Strengthening and skills development in the private, public and civil society’s water and agricultural sectors
Duration: 2 years
Background: In Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, MDF Bangladesh has started its operation in 2014. With the unique and quality training and consultancy services, MDF has been supporting water and sanitation, food security and other sectors to achieve sustainable social impact. MDF is very much interested to further build onto the water and agrofood sectors in Bangladesh.

YEP WATER POSITION EUROCONSULT MOTT MACDONALD – Assistant Project Manager/Water and Sanitation Expert – Egypt, Cairo

Location: Egypt, Cairo
Project title: Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Programme
Duration: 2 years

YEP AGROFOOD POSITION MACAMPO BV – Business Developer – Ghana, Accra

Location: Ghana, Accra
Project title: Holland Greentech Ghana
Duration: 2 years
Background: MACAMPO / Holland Greentech (HGT) Ghana is looking for a business developer based in Accra. Due to the upcoming population growth in Ghana, growing urbanisation, economic growth and increasing middle-class incomes, availability of safe and attractive vegetables is key to prevent hunger & malnutrition coming decades. Also, farmers increasingly recognize the potential of vegetable growing as a business but a horticultural gap in knowledge and availability of quality inputs is a constraining factor in Ghana. Also the general experience in vegetable production and existing climatic conditions (hot and humid climate) creates a need for improved inputs and services. Additionally, weather patterns are changing drastically due to climate change. Sustainable agriculture, including irrigation, and food systems are key. Therefore, needs and opportunities exist for modernization of horticulture.
