Vacancy Business Unit Manager CDI
The Centre for Development Innovation of Wageningen UR is looking for a Business Unit Manager to lead an internationally oriented and impact driven organization to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
The Business Unit Manager will join Wageningen UR’s Centre for Development Innovation (CDI) as their new visionary and inspiring leader and manager. As an advisory and capacity-building organization, CDI facilitates innovation, broker knowledge and help to develop the capacities of individuals, organizations and networks for sustainable change. Working on global issues and in countries with developing and transitional economies, the focus is on innovation and change in the areas of food and nutrition security, sustainable markets, adaptive agriculture and ecosystems governance. Increasingly CDI also operates in areas recovering from conflict or natural disasters. A group of 70 staff help to link Wageningen UR’s scientific knowledge and expertise with processes of society-wide learning and innovation. CDI works to inspire new forms of collaboration between citizens, governments, businesses, NGOs and the scientific community.
The selected candidate will have integral responsibility for and lead the Business Unit CDI on vision & strategy, knowledge development, finance & operations, acquisition, HRM, networks, quality of work and coordination within Wageningen UR. The Business Unit Manager will lead CDI’s management team and play a central role in developing and marketing the international profile and portfolio and expand the international public and private sector networks. The Business Unit Manager is a professional leader able to inspire and coach a team of professionals, and who will provide strategic leadership in CDI’s thematic areas. Where relevant, the Business Unit Manager will also actively link with wider Wageningen UR expertise. The Business Unit Manager will report directly to the managing director of the Social Sciences Group of Wageningen UR.
