This publication aims to anwser the question: “How do farmers respond to the vegetable activities, and why?” in northern Uganda. A farmer outreach program was developed to promote use of good quality seed and good horticulture practice. Of all participants, one-third adopted 1 or more technologies. »

Bringing evidence to the attention of donors on the climate resilience of agroecological systems is a major opportunity to change the research agenda. »

This report aimed to establish the impact of Covid-19 on women workers in the horticulture sector. This was assessed with special focus on employment status, living conditions, shifts in household expenses and outlook for the future. A rapid assessment indicates that food security is a major concern mainly due to job losses and increasing food prices. »

This year’s report uses the concept of nutrition equity to elucidate inequities and show how opportunities and barriers to attaining healthy diets and lives lead to unequal nutrition outcomes. To drive the transformative change needed to achieve nutrition equity, and end malnutrition in all its forms, we must focus on three key areas: food systems, health systems, and financing. »

The 2020 global report on food crises tracks people most in need of emergency food, nutrition and livelihood assistance, identifies main drivers of actute food insecurity and malnutrition. Conflict/insecurity was still the main driver of food crises in 2019, but weather extremes and economic shocks became increasingly significant. »
