ARCH – European Agricultural Research towards greater impact on global CHallenges
ARCH and the F&BKP
ARCH is a Strategic Working Group of the European Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR) and was established in September 2013. SCAR has been mandated by the European Council to advise the Commission (EC) and the Member States on the coordination of agricultural research in Europe. The specific goal of ARCH is to improve linkages between Agricultural Research and Agricultural Research for Development. ARCH aims at identifying and working towards ways to increase the contribution of European Agricultural Research investments to the solution of global challenges. The F&BKP, in support of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, co-operates with ARCH to aligning (the development of) agricultural research agendas for development. Various workshops have been organized in Brussels in which the F&BKP actively contributed. ARCH addresses topics of interest and relevance for the EC, Member States and Associated Countries, such as Agricultural multi-stakeholder Research & Innovation and Food Systems.
