An Applied Research Fund (ARF) country workshop will take place in Benin on November 20 to 22, 2019. Most of the eleven ARF projects running in Benin have finalized or are about to be finished. They will share their lessons learned and discuss issues related to result uptake and scaling opportunities. »

The fourteen projects funded through the first and second call of the Global Challenges Programme will be finalized by the end of 2019. On November 14 and 15 they join in The Hague for their end meeting focusing on Inclusive Agri-business. In preparation, they have all published a factsheet with final research results. »

On World Food Day 2019 (October 16, 2019) the Food & Nutrition Security Excellence Programme kicked off. All participating students gathered at the SmaakPark in Ede to get to know each other and the embassies providing the challenges. They gained more understanding of the case they are going to work on and received a first masterclass on designing workplans. »

A three-day workshop “Strengthening Ugandan Food and Nutrition Security in policy and practice – Scaling innovations from food and agricultural research” was organized in June by NWO-WOTRO, F&BKP and AgriProFocus Uganda. Aim of the workshop was to take stock of the insights and outcomes of the ARF projects in Uganda. »

Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI), F&BKP consortium partner, works on processes of innovation and change through facilitating innovation, brokering knowledge and supporting capacity development. In the week of September 23, WCDI starts a campaign, supporting its slogan “Turning knowledge on food systems into action”. »

The annual African Dairy Conference & Exhibition (AfDa) is the key event for the dairy industry in East Africa. The day before this event, a coalition of NEADAP, AgriProFocus, 3R and F&BKP co-organized a joint knowledge sharing event “Dairy, the motor for healthy growth”. To prepare this meeting they held “Dairy dialogues” in four countries. During the AfDa expo, they invited other Dutch actors to their “Dairy knowledge corner”. »
