African Union members demand the international community to support them in their ambition of a nutrition revolution. During a lunch meeting on June 29, 2017 a food systems approach was considered as key entry point to realize the ambitions of this African nutrition agenda. In October 2016 ARF-2 project members met for a learning exchange during the second International workshop of the Food & Business Applied Research Fund (ARF) in Cotonou, Benin. The workshop focused on knowledge exchange and strategies of co-creation and research uptake. »

NWO-WOTRO and the F&BKP organized a training for research projects of the Global Challenges Programme. The training focused on stakeholder engagement: how do you engage the wider circle of stakeholders in your research? INCLUDE and the Ministry of FA organized a conference on “Boosting youth employment in Africa: what works and why?” on May 30, 2017. The F&BKP participated in the conference because of its work on similar topics from a food security perspective, including the role of youth in agriculture and on social entrepreneurship. »

Dutch agrofood companies are reflecting on the role they can play in the increasing worldwide demand for (fresh) food produce. To feed growing cities in a sustainable way, they need to speed up the pace of innovation, share knowledge and position themselves better. These were some of the conclusions of the “Feeding Cities” meeting, held on April 18, 2017. »

On April 13, the third Food for All Talk (#FFATalks) under the WBG-Netherlands Partnership took place. Ethel Sennhauser of the World Bank Group, led the discussion about how seed companies help smallholder farmers diversify into growing vegetables for income and better nutrition. »
