In the November newsletter, the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP) gives an update on the Agrofood Broker of the Year Award, presents reports and workshops conclusions, and lists Knowledge Portal items and Events relevant to Food and Nutrition Security professionals. »

The nomination round has been closed on November 19, 2018.
Since last year, the Food & Business Knowledge Platform annually awards a professional in the field of Food and Nutrition Security (FNS), who has undertaken significant brokering activities. Until November 19 it was possible to nominate professionals who have been actively and enthusiastically connecting actors to align policy and/or practices with knowledge (development) in order to contribute to FNS in 2018. »

This article discusses the role of innovation brokers in bridging communication gaps between various actors of agricultural  innovation systems. Innovation brokers help build synergy in agricultural innovation systems, but their “behind-the-scenes” mode of operating conceals their impact. »

Out of 17 nominees, three final candidates were selected for the Agrofood Broker of the Year 2017 Award. More than 2000 people voted through an online poll and after two rounds, Addis Teshome was announced as the winner. The award was presented by Melle Leenstra, member of the jury, during the conference “Research & policy: two peas in a pod? A dialogue for food security impact”. »

This year the F&BKP will for the first time award the Agrofood Broker of the Year Award to a professional in the field of Food and Nutrition Security, who has undertaken significant brokering activities in 2016/2017. The jury has selected three final candidates from the 17 nominees. Starting today until November 24, you can vote for your favourite knowledge broker through an online poll. »

Coming December the F&BKP will award the Agrofood Broker of the Year Award to a professional in the field of Food and Nutrition Security, who has undertaken significant brokering activities in 2016/2017. You can nominate someone who has been connecting actors to align policy and/or practices with knowledge (development) in order to contribute to Food and Nutrition Security. »
