AgriProFocus and the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP) facilitate a Community of Practice (CoP) for and with professional youth from members and stakeholders. Aim of the CoP is to jointly contribute to innovative solutions for young people to become successful agripreneurs in the agri-food sector and to have their voices heard among decision makers. The first meeting of this CoP will take place on September 5 in Utrecht, and KIT will take the lead .
Context
Many of us recognize the important role of young women and men in realizing a sustainable agri-food sector in the near future. We are also aware of the many challenges young people face as agripreneurs in the sector. Many stakeholders, including members of AgriProFocus, develop and implement projects and programmes in low- and middle-income countries for and with youth in order to find innovative solutions for these challenges and explore, pilot and upscale opportunities that contribute to the transformation of the agri-food sector. Collaboration and sharing of experiences are important to inspire, increase synergy, to improve and be more effective in tackling worldwide challenges in the agri-food sector.
Community of Practice for Youth in Agribusiness
The AgriProFocus network, in close collaboration with the F&BKP, facilitates a Community of Practice (CoP) for and with professional youth from members and stakeholders, with the aim to jointly contribute to innovative solutions for young people to become successful agripreneurs in the agri-food sector and to have their voices heard among decision makers.
Members will take the lead and will facilitate any of the meet-ups by sharing an interesting success, dilemma, failure, experience, point of view. Discussions will be lively and methods will be participatory.
The first meeting of this CoP takes place on September 5, when KIT Royal Tropical Institute will take the lead and will present a study on “Youth employment and entrepreneurship programs: critical factors for effective interventions”.
