WOTRO, the Science for Global Development department of NWO (The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research) is organizing an online debate series on Food & Nutrition Security. The third episode takes place on October 20 at 14:00 CEST and focuses on Smallholders and Food & Nutrition Security.

NWO-WOTRO is organizing an online debate series on Food & Nutrition Security, based on new knowledge and insights from the Food & Business Research programme funded by NWO-WOTRO and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The third episode takes place on October 20, 2020 and is entitled “Smallholders and Food & Nutrition Security”. This episode is based on the Synthesis Study article on Smallholder Production. Dr Mirjam Ros-Tonen (Associate professor, University of Amsterdam) and Julius Ssemyalo (Country project manager Uganda, Solidaridad) will debate the provocative proposition: ‘If you want to improve Food and Nutrition Security in rural areas every farmer needs to be a growth-oriented entrepreneur’.
