On January 17, 2019 the F&BKP,  WOTRO and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a research – practice exchange seminar in Accra, Ghana which focused on Food Systems Approaches (FSAs). The meeting was attended by some 30 project members of the NWO-WOTRO Global Challenges Programme (GCP) Call 3 who were in Ghana for their midterm review. They were joined by some 40 Ghanaian Food & Business stakeholders working in the field of agri-business. »

It is already known that malnutrition is often caused by unsafe water and sanitation . But how can we move from current silo-thinking and establish fruitful (multi stakeholder) partnerships and projects to truly realize the human rights to food, water and sanitation? On January 14, 2019, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a workshop to provide insights into the opportunities for integrating WASH and nutrition, and how the integration can be used and optimized in programmes and projects. »

They explore the concept of “food systems” further, trying to enhance understanding of what the “food systems approach” is about, and more importantly, how it could work to enhance the food systems transitions required to achieve SDG2 and other sustainable development goals. »
