Global Challenges Programme (GCP)

The Food & Business Global Challenges Programme (GCP) addresses international, regional and global challenges on Food and Nutrition Security as a global public good. Research is carried out in consortia between Southern and Northern scientific and non-scientific stakeholders. Since the start of the programme in 2013, there have been four calls for GCP. Please find below an overview of all GCP research projects funded in the first, second, third and fourth Call.

GCP - Fourth Call 2017

In November 2017, eight transdisciplinary projects have been awarded grants in the GCP fourth call with focus on scaling up climate-smart agriculture. The consortia consist of research organizations, a public and/or private organization from an LMIC, and the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS).



GCP - Third Call Integrated Projects 2016

In May 2016, five Integrated Projects have been awarded grants as part of the GCP third Call with focus on sustainable food systems and/or urbanization and challenges for food and nutrition security.


GCP - Third Call Fast Track Research projects 2015

End November 2015, three Fast Track Research projects have been awarded grants as part of the GCP third Call with focus on sustainable food systems and/or urbanization and challenges for food and nutrition security in Ethiopia, Kenya, Benin and Indonesia.


GCP - Second Call Integrated Projects 2015

In April 2015, six Integrated Projects have been awarded funding as part of the GCP second Call with focus on inclusive business and regional trade.



GCP - Second Call Fast Track Research 2014

End 2014, three Fast Track projects have been awarded grants as part of the GCP second Call with focus on inclusive business and regional trade.


GCP - First Call 2013-2014

In April 2014, five proposals have been awarded funding as part of the GCP first Call with focus on food chain efficiency and sustainable increase of quality food.
