The “Women Food Entrepreneurs in Kenya and Burkina Faso” research project led by Dr. Nicky Pouw is an interdisciplinary research team collaboration between social and natural scientists in Kenya, Burkina Faso and the University of Amsterdam. Lenard Hofland of the GCP project “Follow the Food”, has published an article in the context of “De Voedselzaak” – an online platform discussing the issue of how to feed 10 billion people in 2050 – stating that Dutch companies in Ethiopia do provide permanent jobs and most of all food on the Ethiopian market. »

On 23 November Peter Oosterveer from the Global Challenges Programme project SUPERSEAS presented a food systems perspective on seafood at WorldFish in Penang. In recent years a food systems perspective has been promoted to develop a more comprehensive perspective on supplying sufficient, sustainable and healthy food to consumers. »
