Agricultural productivity in many developing countries remains low and is falling farther behind other regions of the world. At the same time, it is estimated that by 2050 agricultural production would have to double in order to feed the growing world population. In this topic, the focus is on innovations in particular food sectors that would stimulate food security by significantly increasing food availability, accessibility and/or utilization. These could be innovations in value chains such as horticulture, livestock, dairy, etc., but could, for example, also be related to groups of stakeholders in (different) agrofood sectors.
