This webinar “Double Burden of Malnutrition” is organized by the CORE Group’s Nutrition Working Group. Presenter is Professor Rafael Perez-Escamilla, PhD, Yale School of Public Health.

The webinar will facilitate a discussion on intersectoral nutrition sensitive strategies to address the double burden, introducing the concept, raise awareness of why this is a looming crisis, and give an overview of what the global community of practice in food and nutrition security may be able to do to address it.

Target Audience: Policy makers and technical and program staff engaged in food and nutrition security at the national and global levels.

Outcome: The audience will learn about this looming global crisis: the impact the double burden has on people’s health and the strain this public health burden will put on fragile health systems. The audience will also learn about the risks the double burden poses for emerging economies and what can be done to address it.
