The region’s main food and nutrition security stakeholders hold their restricted Food Crisis Prevention Network meeting at the OECD headquarters in Paris.  On April 15, the RPCA will host a session of the Senior Experts Group of the Global Alliance for Resilience – Sahel and West Africa (SEG-AGIR). Focal points in charge of the resilience pillars of Sahel strategies will participate in the debate.

The RPCA meeting which will bring together the main food and nutrition security stakeholders for the West African region. The meeting will provide a framework to validate the final results of the 2015-16 agro-sylvo-pastoral campaign, analyse the food and nutrition situation and propose concrete measures to address any potential localised crises.

Objectives

  • Validate the results of the 2015-16 agro-sylvo-pastoral campaign and make recommendations
  • Review the National Resilience Priorities (NRPs) process and progress made in their implementation
  • Brainstorm on how to strengthen synergy, convergence and complementarities of resilience initiatives (AGIR Declaration).

A restricted group of RPCA Members will already gather on April 13, 2016 to examine further ways of strengthening the visibility, effectiveness and impact of the Network.
