The Harvest Money Expo is an event organised by Vision Group in Kampala on February 14-16, 2020, bringing together farmers and practitioners of the agricultural sector.

Mission of the Expo is to ensure that the economic backbone centered on agriculture is ably supported and new and productive means adapted to boost farming in Uganda through knowledge sharing and capacity building.

Dutch trade mission agro sector to attend Harvest Money Expo in Uganda

The Dutch Trade Mission has been planned to coincide with the Harvest Money Expo. Dutch companies are very satisfied with the turnout and the caliber of the visitors. Good opportunity to expand exports to Uganda for those active in one of the following sectors: dairy, horticulture, potatoes, poultry, pigs or machinery.

Participants of the trade mission you can have their own stand in the Netherlands Village, where they can entertain guests and attend matchmaking events. There will also be a separate room for presentations, workshops and demos.

On February 13 and 14, the NEC will take farmers and companies to visit agricultural businesses around Kampala. This will be based on the wishes you indicate in your intake profile.

Uganda’s agricultural sector

In Uganda, more than 70% of households depend on agriculture. Due to the rapid growth in the Ugandan agricultural sector (and in other East African countries), the demand for technology and know-how has increased considerably.

The Netherlands has a good reputation in this area. In 2015, the Dutch embassy commissioned a scan of the market for agricultural machinery in Uganda, see Agri-Machinery Scan Uganda. And in 2016, it commissioned a scan of the agribusiness in Uganda, see The Agribusiness Market Scan. These reports show most of the opportunities available.
