On Thursday November 27, 2014, the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP) organizes an introductory meeting (by invitation only) for business professionals, chaired by Co Verdaas, Director Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation. The goal of the meeting is to generate knowledge relevant for companies and to promote food security in emerging economies and developing countries.
By participating in the meeting, companies have a say in the definition of the F&BKP Knowledge Agenda and the choice of priority themes within this Agenda. During the meeting strategic knowledge questions will be identified and articulated which are of importance for the Dutch and local private sector to invest, expand existing activities and build partnerships. Furthermore, the meeting is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the Platform and the private sector.
Frans Verberne, Director of the F&BKP Office, will introduce the ambitions of the F&BKP, the approach, the funding opportunities and the added value for the private sector. Then three pitches of private sector parties will follow, including specific examples of strategic knowledge questions. After that, the participants will identify knowledge questions in various thematic subgroups and each group will present their conclusions in a short closing plenary.
