The SCAR Strategic Working Group for improved linkages between Agricultural Research and Agricultural Research for Development (ARCH) organizes two meetings of interest to its members on Wednesday October 31, 2018 in Brussels: one to launch the Policy Brief “Programming Research and Innovation (R&I) for Improved Impact” and another to discuss the study “Global implications of the European Food System – A food systems approach”.
Launch Policy Brief
A small group of representatives from the SCAR Strategic Working Groups ARCH, AKIS and Food Systems has prepared a Policy Brief. The Policy Brief is entitled “Programming Research and Innovation (R&I) for Improved Impact“. It regards Ex Ante Impact assessment based on discussions and conclusions from a jointly held workshop in Rome on April 6, 2018. The Policy Brief will be launched with the main aim to identify a way forward which will allow better use of the Policy Brief by the EC and also Member States in terms of research agendas and policy issues.
The launch of the Policy Brief takes place in Brussels on Wednesday October 31, from 10:00 to 12:30, see also the SCAR Strategic Working Groups website.
Round Table discussion
A study was commissioned by ARCH and was carried out by Wageningen Economic Research. The study was funded by the CASA project. It is called “Global implications of the European Food System – A food systems approach“.
The Panel has been asked to review the study report and provide a few comments. After these, there will be a round table discussion with the main aim to identify a way forward which will allow better use of the study by the EC and also Member States in terms of research agendas and policy issues.
The Round Table discussion is being organized in Brussels on Wednesday October 31, from 14:00 to 16:30.
