2015 is a momentous year for the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), as the institute celebrates their 40th anniversary. IFPRI was established in 1975 with a mission to provide research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries.
IFPRI will mark this occasion with a day-long event and evening dinner program on Wednesday, November 18, in Washington, DC. Over 50 policymakers, partners, donors, and other friends of IFPRI from around the world will share their perspectives on how food policy has evolved over the last 40 years and the key issues we face in a complex, changing world. In the evening, IFPRI will formally launch its new global initiative, Compact2025, which seeks to end hunger and undernutrition by 2025.
Read more about how IFPRI has made a difference through food policy research in a series of 12 stories reflecting on the Institute’s work over the last four decades.
