Vijverbergsessions are closed sessions where academics, politicians and experts from the government, civil society and business discuss global food issues; goal is to formulate conclusions relevant for policy makers.

On Wednesday June 4, 2014 the Platform FoodFirst organizes, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Vijverbergsession “Post harvest losses II” (on invitation only). The seminar will be chaired by Paulus Verschuren, Special Envoy Food and Nutrition Security of the Ministery of Foreign Affairs.

Joost de Jong and Martijn Weijtens from the Ministry of Economic Affairs will give further information about the International Conference on Solutions to Reduce Food Waste and Food Losses in December 2014.

Vanessa Nigten (Food & Business Knowledge Platform) and Bart van Gogh (WUR/LEI) will comment on the issue of Post harvest losses, based on recent research done by their respective organizations.
