In particular the need to encourage and strengthen the participation of youth in coordination mechanisms. »

This research focuses specifically on mobile money accounts and discusses how these have already expanded financial inclusion in Côte d’Ivoire, and how mobile money could help deliver products to cocoa farmers that meet their needs. Encouraging good financial practices would be of great benefit to many cocoa farmers. »

This report highlights the phenomenal success of digital financial services (DFS) in sub-Saharan Africa. Chapter 10 focuses specifically on DFS in relation to agricultural value chains. Extending the use of DFS for rural and agricultural purposes could benefit the entire value chain and daily lives of farmers. »

This journal is a special edition centred around the question: How do small-scale farmers from Africa and Asia come upon good quality seeds, and what problems do they face in the process. Policymakers, development workers, farmers and private companies are consulted to answer this question. »

This technical brief summarizes the lessons learned from seven ICT4Ag projects, offering key recommendations for future projects. The brief highlights the importance of understanding users’ needs by interacting with potential clients before designing an app and then pilot-testing it to fine tune the services provided. »
