During the month of October 2015, the Livestock Production Systems Branch of Animal Production and Health Division, FAO will host, as part of the “Save Food” initiative, an e-conference on "Utilization of Food Loss and Waste as well as Non-Food Parts as Livestock Feed".

The 2015 edition will raise public awareness of the Expo Milano’s theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” from a West African perspective: it is a unique opportunity for stakeholders and partners to showcase their achievements and to share knowledge on how to improve food and nutrition security and increase resilience in the region.

The main purpose of ADFNS is to serve as a rallying point in intensifying political and financial commitments at all levels to address contemporary challenges of food and nutrition insecurity in Africa. The 6th ADFNS is held in Uganda with special focus to Women.

Expo Milano 2015 is not only an exhibition but also a process, one of active participation among a large number of players around the theme of Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.
