On May 22, 2018, a CoP meetup around youth in agribusiness and food systems was facilitated by AgriProFocus and F&BKP. The objective of the CoP is to share recent work on youth in food systems, provide feedback on each other’s work, identify knowledge questions and ideas for joint action, find innovative solutions for urgent issues, and to get to know other stakeholders working in this field as well as inspiration for collaboration. »

This report highlights the phenomenal success of digital financial services (DFS) in sub-Saharan Africa. Chapter 10 focuses specifically on DFS in relation to agricultural value chains. Extending the use of DFS for rural and agricultural purposes could benefit the entire value chain and daily lives of farmers. »

The Dutch agrofood sector needs to change its mindset if it is to capitalize on one of the biggest opportunities of the 21st century: feeding the growing cities of emerging economies. This was one of the main conclusions of an expert roundtable organized as part of the Innovation Network Feeding Cities. »

On January 16, 2018, the F&BKP and MVO Nederland organized the second meeting of the “Innovation Network Feeding Cities” to facilitate sharing of experiences in practice, matchmaking of ideas and people, and looking for improvement of the enabling institutional environment. »

If you want to go far, go together.” With this old Ghanaian saying Worlali Senyo, Director of Growth, Development and Research at Farmerline Ltd in Ghana, opened the session on “Innovation for Food Security”. The saying adequately captured the issue at the heart of the discussions, i.e. that meaningful innovation for food security requires joint efforts and the explicit inclusion of multiple stakeholders and local communities to ensure the widespread uptake of solutions. »

WOTRO, in collaboration with the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and the F&BKP, granted eight projects in the fourth call within the Global Challenges Programme (GCP). The call focuses on contributing to business models, incentives and innovative finance for scaling Climate Smart Agriculture. »
