In this post all researchers are presented who are involved in the Global Challenges Programme (GCP) research project aiming to strengthen women’s food entrepreneurship in city slums in Kenya & Burkina Faso. »

Project member Huig Bergsma wrote a Blogpost about the stakeholder workshop “Micronutrient management for improving harvests, farmers’ incomes, human nutrition, and the environment” organized on April 5, 2016, by the Food & Business Knowledge Platform at Centraal Museum in Utrecht. »

Five Integrated Projects have been awarded grants within the third Call of the Food & Business Global Challenges Programme (GCP). The theme of the Call, which was developed by the F&BKP, is “Transformation of food systems with a focus on sustainability and urbanization”. »

As an official launch of the Follow the Food programme in the three countries of focus (Ethiopia, Kenya and Ghana), the research consortium members organized a kick-off workshop in each of the three countries in November and December 2015. »

In the December newsletter, we present various reports on events, new studies and expert opinions developed within the Food & Business Knowledge Platform (F&BKP) in the last months. In addition to the articles shown in the newsletter, we refer directly to the website for updated sections. »

In the sixth newsletter, the Food & Business Knowledge Platform presents three new reports conducted within the Platform: the first focuses on the financing of African smallholder farmers; the second analyzes Public-Private Partnerships for food security; and the last reports on the results of the consultation meeting to establish a partnership between the Netherlands and the CGIAR.
