Various parties from the agri-food sector will all be participating in the Dutch Agri Food Week\, sharing their enthusiasm\, knowledge and skills with society. This yearâ€™s Agri Food Week takes place all throughout the Netherlands from October 9 till October 19. Farmers\, businesses from the supply and processing industry\, government and scientists will show how they are working to ensure the availability of safe and healthy food for us and later\, for the global population of 9 billion people.Â  \nThe Dutch Agri Food Week shows how parties work together on sustainable food systems now and in the future. SUMMARY:3rd Annual Gathering and Mayors' Summit of MUFPP
DESCRIPTION:On October 19-21\, 2017\, the 3rd Annual Gathering and Mayors&#8217; Summit of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP) will be held in Valencia\, Spain. Representatives from the MUFPP signatory cities will exchange information on the progress made towards implementing sustainable food policies in their cities.  \nDuring the three-day event\, mayors and experts will discuss how to meet the challenges\, such as climate change\, public policies and healthy diets\, sustainable urban food systems and sustainable cities.Â Click here for the full agenda of the MUFPP gathering event. \nCity Region Food Systems\nIn conjunction with the Mayor Summit\, on October 19\, 2017\, FAO and RUAF Foundation will host the closing event of their joint programme on assessing and planning sustainable city region food systems (CRFS). The event will bring together food policy makers from cities around the world\, key experts on urban and regional food policies and representatives from international organizations. \nThe event will provide the opportunity for cities to share their experiences in implementing a comprehensive assessment of the local food system and plan specific policy interventions to foster sustainable and inclusive food systems and reinforce rural urban linkages\, and present the web-based CRFS assessment toolkit that other city regions can use in assessing and planning their food systems. \nThe event includes the following sessions: \n\nResults from 7 pilot cities (Medellin\, Colombo\, Lusaka\, Kitwe\, Quito\, Toronto and Utrecht).\nPresentation of the web-based CRFS assessment toolkit.\nDiscussion on the role of food system assessment and monitoring in local food policy formulation and implementation.\n\nClick here for the full agendaÂ of FAO-RUAF joint programmeâ€™s final event. \n
