DESCRIPTION:The Dutch Agri Food Week is the ultimate national stage that focuses on food and food production. Various parties from the agri-food sector will all be participating in the Dutch Agri Food Week\, sharing their enthusiasm\, knowledge and skills with society. This year’s Agri Food Week takes place all throughout the Netherlands from October 9 till October 19. Farmers\, businesses from the supply and processing industry\, government and scientists will show how they are working to ensure the availability of safe and healthy food for us and later\, for the global population of 9 billion people.  \nThe Dutch Agri Food Week shows how parties work together on sustainable food systems now and in the future. This annual event is designed for anyone with an interest in food and food production\, both professionals and consumers. \nThis year\, the Dutch Agri Food Week’s main theme is food and health. Food to be able to learn\, work and live: from malnutrition to obesity\, from healthy and tasty food for children to growing  old with vitality and in good health. \nFortunately\, there are numerous smart farmers\, students and researchers in the Netherlands\, who work every day on improvements and innovations. DESCRIPTION:This year\, the World Food Day is taking place in Ede on Saturday October 14\, 2017. It is an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the city of Ede\, in close collaboration with Wageningen University & Research\, Rabobank and the Province of Gelderland. The event consists of excursions\, workshops\, movies\, talkshows and a streetmarket. Please note that most of the program is in Dutch.  \nDit jaarlijkse (grotendeels) gratis evenement strijkt op 14 oktober 2017 neer in de Mauritskazerne in Ede. Iedereen is welkom om het verhaal achter ons eten te ontdekken in tientallen excursies\, workshops\, talkshows\, films en een streekmarkt. Sluit je op in een koffie-escape game\, fileer een vreemde vis\, ga op bezoek bij een slagerij\, leer gezondheidsmythes en -feiten onderscheiden en ga op een heuse supermarktsafari. Kom langs\, doe mee\, en proef de verandering op World Food Day! \nOrganisatie\nWorld Food Day is een initiatief van het ministerie van Economische Zaken en de Gemeente Ede in samenwerking met Wageningen University & Research\, Rabobank Gelderse Vallei en Rabobank Vallei & Rijn en de Provincie Gelderland. Daarnaast wordt het programma inhoudelijk ingevuld in samenwerking met verschillende programmapartners. \nProgramma\nEen groot deel van het programma van World Food Day 2017 is gratis te bezoeken. De excursies en workshops zijn 5 euro. Verder zijn de films en talkshows gratis toegankelijk. Wel is het belangrijk een plekje te reserveren. Ga naar de website voor meer informatie en om een plek te bemachtigen. \nFor non-Dutch speaking guests there are several programs available in English and of course they can join the event at the Mauritskazerne for food\, drinks and the farmers market.
