SUMMARY:IARSAF 20th Annual Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The International Association of Research Scholars and Fellows (IARSAF) of IITA organizes her annual symposium which creates opportunities for students to interact and exchange ideas on their research activities. The theme of this year’s symposium is “Contributions of IITA postgraduate students’ research for transforming African agriculture”. \nThis 20th annual symposium coincides with the IITA 50th Anniversary. This ground-shaking occasion promises to attract many stakeholders in Agricultural business and top researchers in Africa. Participants will include presidents of some agricultural organizations (IFAD\, AfDB\, FARA etc.)\, Agriculture Ministers\, Directors General\, agricultural donor agencies\, IITA partners\, research students and staff of agricultural research institutes. \nThematic areas\n\nNatural Resource Management\nPlant Production and Plant Health\nBiotechnology and Genetic Improvement\nSocial Science and Agro-business\nFood and Nutrition Science\n\nScholarship opportunity is available for 5 students with very good abstracts from locations outside Ibadan. \nAbstracts for both poster and oral presentations on research work can be submitted until June 15\, 2017. Please note that abstracts must be in line with at least one of the above-mentioned thematic areas of IITA. \nPlease follow this link for details on registration\, call for abstract and deadlines. \nAbout IARSAF-IITA\nThe International Association of Research Scholars and Fellows (IARSAF) comprises of young vibrant graduate students of agriculture and all other affiliate fields conducting research activities at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA). The core objectives of the association are to create a forum that fosters exchange of academic and research ideas among graduate students and to promote social interactions among researchers. These are needed to build strong network of young scientists across the world and Africa in particular. Towards achieving these lofty objectives\, a symposium is organized annually. \n
