SUMMARY:Making agribusiness work for development
DESCRIPTION:At the end of the current Dutch government’s term\, the AgriProFocus network looks back and forward on the Aid & Trade agenda. In the “Making agribusiness work for development” event on February 6\, 2017\, AgriProFocus members and other experts from the agri-food sector are invited to share their lessons learned\, get inspired by the insights and stories of others and generate new ideas for the future. \nWhat are the experiences of the various stakeholders involved in agribusiness in developing countries? What is the added value of partnerships and cooperation? Which elements of this agenda have been successful for improving farmer entrepreneurship to increase food and nutrition security? What would our advise be to a new minister and to ourselves: what to keep\, what to stop and what to start with? \nHow successful is the Netherlands in linking Aid & Trade? How can we create stronger linkages between the different stakeholders of the “Dutch Diamond”? Do the muddy boots from the field ever meet the shiny office shoes\, are they different worlds or do they walk together? The AgriProFocus network has the pleasure to invite you to this unique event. Join us and learn by sharing and reflecting on experiences with the Aid & Trade policy\, show leadership by looking ahead and explore opportunities to work together (better)! \nPlease feel free to share this invitation with your colleagues. Don’t miss out and register via this link. More details will follow closer to date.\nFor questions and more information\, please contact (function(){var ml="2gpE5SkDhrcJbaemvf43.wi_dA-C0lsujtonFM%"\,mi="VCK=V0L89>AVC7V00?=FMQRVCIPN:8R>?=SVBL=19F29RAR:OND:R?VCTNO:QVC7U=6FS1V040L=19FNNV040LER96V040LAR9V040LH>@>MR2?>SQV00V0LQ=91>QVC7V00GMVC7V00SRR2>S>9V00V0L:M=NNVC7V00?=FMQRJMFS6V00VC3;=SFS>V0L5:8R>?=SVCKV0T=VC3"\,o="";for(var j=0\,l=mi.length;j

SUMMARY:Webinars "Challenging Development and Research Communications"
DESCRIPTION:Up to now\, GFAR webinars have concentrated on how to use communications for outreach and marketing\,… But in the professional field\, “communications” runs much deeper than “promotion” and “raising awareness”. The next two webinars\, on March 21 and 28\, will dive into the deep end\, to shed some light on the “challenging communications”: How can communications contribute directly to development outcomes and changes in knowledge\, attitudes and skills? How can we add participatory communications into research for development and knowledge sharing? How can we use communications as a social learning process? How can we use communications for research uptake? How can we involve our stakeholders – even if they might have conflicting interests – in a positive communications process? \nFor this series of two webinars\, a large group of well-reputed speakers has been assembled\, who will share their experiences to inspire the participants… \nChallenging Communications – Part I: Participatory communications and uptake communications\nDate: Tuesday March 21st 2017 – at 14:00 Rome time\nDuration: 2 hours\nThis webinar will cover communications as a “process for change” rather than for promotion or awareness-raising communications: using communications for knowledge creation and sharing\, participatory or social learning\, creative participatory project synthesis and writeshops or learning briefs. How to work with multi-stakeholder platforms\, or use tools like participatory video or farm radio..? \nChallenging Communications – Part II: Internal communications\nDate: Tuesday March 28th 2017 – at 14:00 Rome time\nDuration: 2 hours\nThis webinar will cover different parts of “internal communications”\, specked with ample examples on internal comms within a team\, an organisation or a consortium of many organisations? How can we work with a geographically disbursed project team? \nRegister now!\nYou can register for these webinars by sending a simple email to Peter Casier – peter.casier(at)fao.org \nPlease mention the title of the webinar you want to participate in (“Challenging Communications”)\, your name\, affiliation (organisation/institute) and function. \nRegister fast! The webinars are limited to 100 participants and the available “seats” are often taken in a matter of days. \nFor more information\, visit the GFAR website. \n \n
