DESCRIPTION:The first edition of the 2.0 Connect Series\, powered by OCP Africa\, will take place in Cote d’Ivoire on February 2\, 2017. Africa 2.0 will be mentoring the next generation of African leaders\, networking with influential leaders to pass on the baton to the next generation and discussing agriculture in Africa.  \nThis is a series of four Connect sessions starting in Cote d’Ivoire\, with subsequent gatherings in Nigeria (March 3)\, Kenya (April 28) and Senegal (June 30). \nThe sessions bring together young aspiring entrepreneurs with senior\, emerging leaders and industry experts to learn\, draw inspiration and be mentored by them. \nPlease download the flyer for more information. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Webinar "Double Burden of Malnutrition"
DESCRIPTION:This webinar “Double Burden of Malnutrition” is organized by the CORE Group’s Nutrition Working Group. Presenter is Professor Rafael Perez-Escamilla\, PhD\, Yale School of Public Health. \nThe webinar will facilitate a discussion on intersectoral nutrition sensitive strategies to address the double burden\, introducing the concept\, raise awareness of why this is a looming crisis\, and give an overview of what the global community of practice in food and nutrition security may be able to do to address it. \nTarget Audience: Policy makers and technical and program staff engaged in food and nutrition security at the national and global levels. \nOutcome: The audience will learn about this looming global crisis: the impact the double burden has on people’s health and the strain this public health burden will put on fragile health systems. The audience will also learn about the risks the double burden poses for emerging economies and what can be done to address it. \n
