DESCRIPTION:An e-course on Food and Nutrition Security\, for policy officers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, other ministries\, NGOs\, partner organizations and for professionals working in the field of Food and Nutrition Security or International Cooperation. A great opportunity to meet and discuss with peers from various countries to expand your knowledge and perspective on Food & Nutrition Security! \nThe need to feed 9 billion people by 2050 and sustainably eradicate hunger and undernourishment are two of the main challenges that the world is facing today.  These challenges cannot be treated in isolation but are closely related with poverty\, climate change and depletion of natural capital. Food and nutrition insecurity is a multidimensional issue that will only be resolved if growth\, distribution and sustainability are tackled in unison. SUMMARY:ANH Academy Week
DESCRIPTION:The Agriculture\, Nutrition & Health (ANH) Academy invites the global community of ANH researchers and users of this research to the first ANH Academy Week to be held in Addis Ababa\, Ethiopia\, on 20-24 June 2016. \nThe ANH Academy Week will be an annual event\, expanding on the successful history of the five Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH) conferences and events and activities by CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) and Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Action (IMMANA).   \nGoal ANH Academy Week\nThe goal of the event is to facilitate learning and sharing among the global community of interdisciplinary researchers and research-users working on agriculture and food systems for improved nutrition and health. The first ANH Academy Week is to be held in Addis Ababa to facilitate participation and engagement of the African research and research-user communities with participants from around the world. \nProgramme\nThe ANH Academy Week programme will feature contributions from a diverse set of ANH Academy partners and with the oversight of an International Steering Committee\, including: \n1)    Conference on Agri-Health Research. The call for abstracts is now open\n2)    Learning Labs (training workshops) offered by ANH Academy partners\n3)    Events led by ANH Academy partner organisations\n4)    Opportunities for networking \nCall for abstracts\nA call for abstracts for those willing to present at the Research Conference is now open. SUMMARY:Innovation systems for food security and nutrition
DESCRIPTION:The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP) are organizing the International Symposium “Innovation systems for food security and nutrition: understanding the capacities needed”. \nIn the framework of efforts to promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development\, the Tropical Agriculture Platform\, a G20 initiative facilitated by FAO\, has recently hosted an electronic conference aimed at bringing together the issues of capacity development\, agricultural innovation\, and food security and nutrition\, with the objective of developing recommendations for policy-making. The dialogue opened by the e-conference will be completed by the International Symposium. \nThe electronic conference took place from 18 April to 20 May 2016. The TAP Common Framework on Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CD-AIS) served as the conceptual and methodological basis for the e-conference.
