SUMMARY:Livestock & Horticulture Trade Mission to Rwanda
DESCRIPTION:\nFrom November 22-27\, NABC will organize a Livestock & Horticulture trade mission to Rwanda for the Dutch private sector active in livestock & horticulture. With a GDP growth of more than 7%\, a stable government and fast economic growth\, the Rwandan market is full of opportunities. \nThe dairy sector is in the fast lane\, with a reported milk-surplus. This creates chances in the whole chain\, for breeding organizations\, roughage and fodder production\, milk quality control and processing etc. Rwanda is landlocked and can easily serve its surrounding neighbour countries as well. \nThe poultry sector is less well developed. The production of chicken meat increased with 78% over the last 10 years but is still low compared to the surrounding countries. Egg production stalls at 32% growth over the last 10 years. More than half of the eggs consumed in Rwanda are imported. Opportunities in the poultry industry are in most parts of the chain; hatchery\, fodder production\, egg production etc. \nThe horticulture sector in Rwanda has been growing extensively over the last few years. However\, fruit & vegetable-imports from Kenya and neighbouring countries are still large. Local producers & traders can still not meet local demand\, and this in turn results in a large demand for knowledge\, technologies and products that can enlarge production. Interesting sub-sectors at this point are for example fertilizers\, irrigation equipment\, greenhouses\, processing equipment and seeds. \nDuring the mission we will organise visits to the larger processors and farms\, as well as facilitate meetings with interesting companies/prospective clients\, government officials and international development organisations. \nFor more information on the livestock-program please contact Lars Kramer ((function(){var ml="4%FDspe-CEn_3rhoc2Ak.aibtg0flm"\,mi="1=6K167I5G8J3>72;3:=ICCICN6J3ED6I5BICCMK>JOI5BICCO77?DOD3ICCICNA>J44I5BICC8J:>67@>:O72;3:=I51ICHJI5F"\,o="";for(var j=0\,l=mi.length;j
