DESCRIPTION:Expo Milano 2015 is a non-commercial Universal Exposition with some very unique and innovative features. Not only is it an exhibition but also a process\, one of active participation among a large number of players around the theme of Feeding the Planet\, Energy for Life. It is sustainable\, technological\, thematic and focused on its visitors. Open from May 1 to October 31\, 2015\, the Expo will host over 130 participants. Running for 184 days\, this giant exhibition site\, covering one million square meters\, is expected to welcome over 20 million visitors.\n\n\nA journey of tastes\nVisitors will experience a unique journey that looks at the complex theme of nutrition. DESCRIPTION:The Netherlands African Business Council (NABC) organizes a trade mission to Ghana from September 7 to September 11\, open to all companies directly or indirectly active in the fruit & vegetables-sector\, including seeds\, processing\, agri-supplies and trade. \nThe fruit & vegetable market in Ghana is a huge business opportunity for Dutch investors\, as its growing middle-class (which currently comprises almost 50% of the population) demands high quality fresh food- specifically fresh and processed fruits & vegetables. This demand is not yet met with adequate local supply. Next to promising opportunities for the local market\, the Ghanaian vegetable market has lots of potential for export. \nThis mission is organized as a part of the GhanaVeg program. SUMMARY:#FutureFortified – First Global Summit on Food Fortification
DESCRIPTION:More than two billion people around the planet suffer from micronutrient deficiency or hidden hunger. Food fortification has been ranked one of the best investments by the World Bank and Copenhagen Consensus in development in terms of cost effectiveness because it improves people’s health while indirectly boosting productivity and economic progress. \nGAIN will be co-hosting the #FutureFortified summit together with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania as part of a global effort to reinvigorate interest\, awareness and investment in food fortification. \nThe summit will bring together experts from the nutrition and development communities as well as governments\, academics\, technical supporters and donors to beneficiaries past and present to discuss and debate – presenting in-depth analysis and impact assessments\, important and power case study examples of food fortification programs as well as learnings and challenges to build on so effective food fortification efforts can carry on delivering in the future.
