SUMMARY:Sustainable Food Lab Annual Summit 2015
DESCRIPTION:The Sustainable Food Lab Leadership Summit on the ss Rotterdam\, in Rotterdam\, The Netherlands\, the week of June 7\, 2015\, will explore: \n\nCollaborations in sourcing regions to achieve sustainable sourcing objectives;\nBuilding from the gains made by roundtables and certifications towards larger shifts in commodity systems;\nEngaging with farmers to co-design sustainability programs and make faster progress;\nTaking a look at how corporate commitments such as zero-deforestation are achieved and what they mean;\nLooking past codes of conduct to sustainable livelihoods (living wages and living incomes) in source regions.\n\nThese conversations are about solving problems rather than symptoms. Several years ago the focus of sustainability initiatives broadened from operations to supply chain. Now we see that the supply chain lens must broaden further to solve supply chain challenges of water risk\, biodiversity impacts\, and poverty. \nSustainable Food Lab annual summits begin with one- or two-day Learning Journeys in the field. These Journeys are opportunities for small groups to learn more together than is possible individually. The conversations are deep and relationships lasting. \nThe Learning Journeys are followed by working sessions which advance many existing initiatives\, including collaboration in regions with water risk\, the Cool Farm Alliance\, performance measurement in smallholder systems\, the Seas of Change Initiative on scaling up more inclusive markets\, and soil-building rotations in commodity production. We welcome other suggestions. \nFor more information and registration\, please visit the website of Sustainable Food Laboratory.  \n
