SUMMARY:"Transition or stagnation? Everyday life\, food security and recovery in post conflict northern Uganda"
DESCRIPTION:PhD defence Winnie Wairimu: The blind spot for household labour constraints was raised by Ms. Winnie Wairimu\, IS Academy PhD candidate in northern Uganda and funded by ZOA. Ms. Wairimu’s research focused on household food security from a range of different perspectives (including those from households\, local government officials\, and humanitarian agencies). \nPrior to the defence\, there will be a presentation of ZOA’s research report\, a spin-off of the research by Ms Wairimu. The report is entitled “Shedding light on a Blind Spot: Incorporating labor constraints and labor productivity in the planning and evaluation of agricultural interventions”. It will be presented by Ir. Roelof van Til (ZOA’s sector specialist on food security and agriculture) and Dr. Timmo Gaasbeek (liaison between ZOA and the IS Academy). \n
