Within the Food & Business Knowledge Platform, all awarded NWO-WOTRO Food & Business Research projects of GCP and ARF can connect with relevant partners to improve their research and work on various research uptake and impact activities.

The F&BKP supports these activities by:

  • Publishing the research projects, progress, (intermediate) results and events on the F&BKP website and in Newsletters.
  • Supporting individual research teams at incidental base with contacts advice on impact activities.
  • Linking research teams (thematically) with other networks, research programmes and conferences if this has added value for either side.
  • Facilitating research teams on joint topics related to impact, e.g., stakeholder engagement, capacity development and influencing policy.

Food & Business Research is a funding instrument managed by WOTRO, the Science for Global Development department of NWO (the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research). Food & Business Research is linked to the Food & Business Knowledge Platform, through which the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports the global quest for developing and implementing effective ways to enhance food and nutrition security in cooperation with the private sector. The Steering Committee of the Platform, supported by its secretariat (the Office), defines the scope of the Food & Business Research funding instrument.

Within the Food & Business Research programme there are two funds, the Applied Research Fund (ARF) and the Global Challenges Programme (GCP). Since the start of the programme, there have been two Calls for GCP and one Call with three Rounds for ARF.

You can now find an overview of the research projects funded so far on the F&BKP website. Please note that this section of the website is an ongoing work-in-progress updated in close cooperation with the project teams. During the progress of projects, new information will be published on the website including outcomes, knowledge products, publications, events, press releases, etc..
