Marcel Vernooij is strategic advisor and member of the Management Team of the Sustainable Economic Development Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. The department promotes sustainable and inclusive economic growth in developing countries. It supports a conducive business climate and investments of local and Dutch companies.

Marcel Vernooij is responsible for strategic policy advice, trade facilitation and the promotion of regional economic cooperation, and the synergy between private sector development and food security.
He has been working for the Dutch Government in senior functions on private sector development, trade, agro-industries, agriculture, food security, and biodiversity.
