David Suttie has worked for the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) since 2010, mostly in the areas of research and policy advice focusing on the themes of rural youth employment, migration, rural-urban linkages and family farming. He previously worked at the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), where he co-authored publications and policy briefs related to gender dimensions of rural employment. He has also been employed as a Lecturer in Rural Development and, before that, as a Capacity Building Officer working with migrants on the Thai-Myanmar border. He holds postgraduate degrees in Development Economics, Sustainable Development and Rural Change, as well as a bachelor's degree in Economics.
