Final report for the International Symposium on Agroecology for Food Security and Nutrition

Published by FAO,

A two-day international symposium on Agroecology for Food Security and Nutrition was on 18-19 September 2014, in Rome, Italy by FAO. More than 50 experts, including academic professors, researchers, private sector, government officials and leaders of civil-society organizations, made presentations or speeches at the symposium, which was attended by more than 400 people (see agenda). The final report (PDF) provides an overview of the Symposium and the COAG side-event. It gives insight into the key points discussed in the different sessions: ecological approaches, building synergies, people and economics, agro-ecology in practice: country examples by farmers and farmers’ associations and dialogue on ecological processes and health and nutrition.
