Ethiopia Rising: Red Terror to Green Revolution

The documentary Ethiopia Rising, co-funded by WRI and made by UK filmmaker Mark Dodd, tells the story of how Ethiopia’s people restored vast areas of degraded land to productivity. Thousands of hectares of degraded land were transformed into vast hillside forests and fertile valleys. The story offers inspiration for other countries facing degraded soils, famine and climate change. The film covers a period of 30 years. The story highlights agroecological practices in Ethiopia through forest conservation. See the trailer of the film here.
